Fun stat about sealants

Quick question: do you know how much molar sealants can lower cavity risk for kids? In my op last Tuesday we were celebrating that they can cut decay by around 80% in the first couple years, and I love telling parents we pair them with a 2-minute brush-and-story routine to keep the protection going.

That about 80% in the first couple years tracks with CDC data (https://www.cdc.gov/oralhealth/publications/features/sealants-keep-kids-smiles-healthy.html), and the “2-minute brush-and-story routine” is gold. My one caveat: I recheck at the 6-month recall and spot-etch with a bit of flowable if there’s any margin lift, otherwise the benefit drops off fast, . When a chunk fractures, do you patch or strip and reseal the whole groove?
